General Steel, Pedal Steel Guitar Player Rated #1

Nashville, TN (PRWEB) March 26, 2008 -- After tying for second place, Tommy Butler broke away from the pack to be rated the #1 musician on the popular industry networking site, Musician's Referral List (MRL) http://www.rickryan.com/musicianreferral/musiciansearch.aspx . Stellar reviews of Tommy's talent can be viewed at aforementioned link. Scoring is 1 through 10. Butler has received almost exclusively 10 (highest) ratings from his peers and fans. Butler said this about his success, "This career has taken me places and afforded me opportunities to see and do things that I would have not gotten to do without music. It is an experience unlike any other."

Originally from Elizabethtown, NC, Butler gave up his career as a police officer for a shot at country music fame in the highly competitive industry. Pedal Steel Guitar is one of the most complicated and difficult instruments to learn, much less master. In addition Butler also plays Dobro, lap steel, Acoustic, and Bass Guitar.

Some of the more prominent artists Butler has performed with are Joe Nichols, Tim McGraw, John Michael Montgomery, Doug Stone, Vern Gosdon, Hank Williams III, Daryle Singletary, Dierks Bentley, Jessica Andrews and The Wilkinsons. Butler is currently working with the much heralded brother and sister country duo, "The Roys" http://www.theroyscountry.com who are touring with Legendary George Jones on select dates throughout 2008.

Although Butler now calls Nashville home, he has also lived and performed in Savannah, GA. Connect Savannah recently touted Tommy Butler, when promoting a then upcoming February 16, 2008 show featuring George Jones and The Roys, stating, "Look for journeyman pedal steel guitarist Tommy Butler (who plays with local honky-tonker Chuck Courtenay during downtime between tours) as part of The Roys' backing band."

Butler is often called on to review new products by Peavey Electronics http://www.peavey.com, one of the largest audio equipment manufacturers including steel guitar related products, amplifiers and effects. Butler's Peavey reviews appear on music sites world wide.

Tommy Butler has secured several endorsements including GHS strings and Derby Steel Guitars, among others.

Butler has graced some of the most well-known and prestigious venues in country music, including the Grand Ole Opry and Wildhorse Saloon. Butler has also been called upon at lend his talent at various recording studios in Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

When Butler isn't performing at civic centers, auditoriums, casinos, bars, clubs and recording studios in the U.S. and Canada, he can be seen performing locally downtown in Nashville at one of the many live music venues that line Broadway and surrounding streets. When not on the road, he is frequently requested to perform with up and coming acts for major label showcases.

Having fans recognize him is something Butler is still growing accustom to. Butler recently left a Nashville venue to be approached by fans from Ohio, where his reputation had reached. Still Butler remains humble, thanks to his rural North Carolina roots and deeply religious upbringing.

Butler is pleased with his accomplishments but looks forward what the future holds.
